westgardinermaine.org ↗About this guide
WestGardiner.com is a volunteer-run, community-maintained guide. It is not the town, it does not speak for the town, and it never will — but it tries to make the town’s own information easier to find.
What this is
West Gardiner is a town of about 3,700 people in western Kennebec County. Most of what matters to a resident or a visitor is public information — but it is spread across a town website, a printed newsletter, a chamber directory, a school district site and a dozen other places.
This site gathers those pieces into a single starting point, and — just as importantly — links straight through to the original source for anything that has to be authoritative.
WestGardiner.com is created and hosted by Alexander Wasson, an independent web developer. Questions, corrections and sponsorship enquiries all go to alexander@aroostook.me.
Provenance
Every page on this site is assembled from public sources, and every page links back to them. Nothing here is invented.
Office hours, phone numbers, officials, committee memberships, service pages and notices are taken from westgardinermaine.org and linked directly, so you always land on the current version.
westgardinermaine.org ↗“West Gardiner Businesses Large and Small” is printed inside The Weathervane and updated online between issues. It is the source for the local listings on this site.
Newsletter & directory ↗Population figures, town history and the chamber’s own list of West Gardiner member businesses all come from the chamber’s community profile for the town.
Chamber profile ↗Kennebec Land Trust for the Wakefield preserve, Maine by Foot for trail facts, the Maine Turnpike Authority for the service plaza, the Cobbossee Watershed District for the watershed, and the U.S. Census Bureau for population and area.

Local information goes out of date. Businesses close, officials’ terms end, hours change, phone numbers change hands.
Two rules apply. First, the town’s own website wins over anything on this site. Second, if you spot a mistake here, tell someone — that is the only way it gets fixed.
